Bio: “All commands, all requests, all statements preceded by ‘Simon Says,’ you obey.” Lou explains to his contestants. “All else you do not. It’s that simple.” Yeah right! How completely wrong people can get these “simple” instructions makes for a hilarious show. At a NHL game in Nashville the contestants and audience knew the winner would drive away with a new pickup truck. Motivate people and they will follow Lou’s instructions better? Yeah right! In less than four minutes Lou put out the entire audience and all but one lucky but dazed contestant.

Famous for his NBA halftimes, his many appearances on the “Battle of the Network Stars,” national TV talk shows as well as baseball, hockey, and football routines, Lou Goldstein has made countless millions laugh and laugh hard.

It all started in the Catskills in the late 40’s. Lou parlayed a summer job title of ‘Boat Boy’ into a job on the athletic staff at Grossinger’s Resort. Before long, Lou worked his way into the show rooms where he and his Simon Says act became an icon of the Catskills resort entertainment history. He worked with or met all the celebrities of the day. He even once roomed with Mel Brooks.

Lou actually owns a trademark on the ‘Simon Says’ name. His game is often played with celebrity contestants. A complete list would be impossible but a couple of the more interesting names include: Joe Montana, Milton Berle, O.J. Simpson, Johnny Carson, Mike Douglas… there are so many more.

His show has always made crowds roar with laughter. The more years that Lou continues to perform his act might make a younger person think that they could match wits with this master of mind games. Not so. If anything this only makes the show even more entertaining and amazing. Simon Says: “Don’t ever miss a chance to see this show!”
